Robert Morris U. beats Penn State in Men's Lax

By Reece

I just want to say congratulations to one of our HomeField teams, the Robert Morris Colonials, for a big upset win over Penn State in men's lacrosse action this past weekend (pre-season rankings had Robert Morris at #49, and Penn State at #24).

While we certainly can't take all the credit for the win (an individual performance on attack by Corbyn Tao-Brambleby sealed the game) we like to think that the extra time the Colonials spent using HomeField to scout the Nittany Lions helped this underdog team get a great victory.

Good luck to the Colonials as they continue their first year in DI lacrosse.

And Penn State? We're waiting for your call...

Brown Bears: The Best Alums in the Lacrosse World

By Reece

Brown Lacrosse is fortunate to have some of the best alums in the lacrosse world (if I do say so myself). Last Thursday night, Dan and I attended the Brown Lacrosse 2009 Kick-off Party in NYC with a bunch of fellow alums, young and old. It's great to see the turnout of support for our alma mater as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The next event occurs every spring, as the 'young' alums come back to scrimmage the current squad, getting them ready for the spring season with a good run up and down the field. A lot of teams have trouble with this, but the Brown alums always show up with plenty of numbers to play (and we need them!). Dan and I were happy to be a part of the fun on a beautiful day in Providence. Here are a few pics thanks to Ken Daiber P'11 - (Above left, I am covering sophomore attack Andrew Feinberg '11. Below, Dan makes an unusual attempt at a groundball).

We're also looking forward to seeing the game video uploaded to HomeField so we can show Joe the play where Dan stops a shot... with his nuts.

Go Bears!
