Player-of-the-Week

By Patrick

Beginning today, the team at HomeField and Overtime Media will be naming a player-of-the-week award from the previous week's games. Suggestions from fans, teammates, and coaches are welcome throughout the week, but for this first award we've made the selection all on our own.

We're proud to congratulate the goalie for the Hobart Statesmen, Max Silberlicht, as the first-ever HomeField Player-of-the-Week. The junior net-minder was instrumental in leading Hobart to their fifth straight win on Saturday against #11 Georgetown. The Hoya's could not solve Hobart's stingy keeper as Silberlicht finished the game with 16 saves and only 8 goals against for an outstanding .667 save percentage. What's even more impressive is that entering the 4th quarter, Silberlicht helped his team build a comfortable 13-2 lead, while deflecting 14 shots for an insane .875 save percentage through the first 45 minutes of play.

Once again, congratulations to Max and the entire Statesmen program. At 5-0, they look like a team that could be making some serious waves in May.
