"This video is not yet processed."

By Reece

I posted a video to YouTube today. This afternoon to be exact. It's now 8:20PM and I still can't see my video. What gives?

"This video is not yet processed." Not yet processed? Over 5 hours later? Sure, I know YouTube is processing 700 billion hours of video a day (or are those Wall St. figures?), but are you really telling me it takes hours to process my 4 minute video? I guess that's the problem with being the biggest player in the game.

I could've used Vimeo, Seesmic or another video hosting service, but I went with the big Tube for its ubiquity and the features it provides... too bad it isn't providing.

I'm not trying to pick a fight with YouTube (it has provided hours of entertainment for many), but I want to get something done, and can't. The Tube is just too lethargic. That's why I like our company. We're three guys. Our email addresses are available here. Need to talk? Joe's always willing to lend an ear 508-444-8637. Point is, we're small and agile and if you were having this problem, we'd be there to fix it.

The Shake Shack Flash Mob and 5 Tips for Shack Virgins

By Reece

If you are at all involved in the NYC tech/start-up/entrepreneur scene, and you're a fan of delicious burgers, fries and shakes, and you love (cutting) really long lines, then you've probably heard about the Shake Shack Flash Mob Twitterbot. The brainchild and product of Fred Wilson and Whitney McNamara respectively, the Twitterbot communicates line lengths to those of us who need a thousand calorie lunch, but can't stand in line for an hour. It's a great example of how to make mobile technology more social in the real world.

I love me some Shackburgers, so I've been the executor of a few Shake Shack flash mobs and now I've got the data to show it (thanks to Vinicius Vacanti). More importantly for you, Vinicius has broken down the data to show the best times to hit the Shack, but avoid the dreaded line. If you've been avoiding the Shack because of the line, use his data as a guide.

And for good measure, my own advice...

1. Go hungry. The Shack is not for those looking for 'a bite to eat.' You don't wait in line that long just to get some fries. I try to go for a long run before, hustle down to Madison Square Park and usually get my food just before I pass out.

2. Conversely, your hunger will probably lead you to order more than you can handle. So be it. Just don't let me see you wasting fries. I actually think it may be a sin to not order at least 2 out of 3 of the Shake Shack holy trilogy (In the name of the burger, fries and chocolate shake).

3. Don't feed the birds/animals.

4. Common sense applies. Don't go to the Shakeshack before a big night out in the city. There's not a lot of room for beers after a double-burger, fries and a shake.

5. Don't fight 'the itis.' Just let it happen...

Bonus Tip: Have fun! The Shake Shack is a great experience. Enjoy being in line with 100 other people you'd never hang with if it weren't for those delicious treats at the end.
